Self Portraits.

I posted these in order of when they were taken.

This is the closest I have come to taking a self portrait since last May. Last May!

I want to start taking SPs again, but I would love to have some ideas. A couple of these were taken for prompts and I loved working with a concept! I plan on making a list of my own ideas but I’d love to hear yours.

So tell me, what are some ideas or concepts that you all have? ;)

Like I said a few posts back, I have been going through my old files and finding some forgotten treasures. I plan on sharing those with you over the next few days as I catch up from the time lost during vacation (not complaining).

At our last apartment in Springfield, we had a creepy old basement. My dear friend, Amy, and I decided to take advantage of that and do a styled shoot. At the time, we had only worked together once and it didn’t go well. (Freezing temperatures without proper attire never bodes well with outdoor shoots with new acquaintances. We should have known better. ha) However, our second attempt went so much better! These are my favorite images from that night.

Happy Friday, dear friends!

I thought I would stop in and share some old photos I stumbled upon this morning from a while back. It is an Alice in Wonderland inspired shoot. I was TweedleDee (look at how different I look!!). My friend Mackenzie took these. She is incredibly talented and I miss her so. We used to do stuff like this all the time… just because. I really need to be a part of a shoot like this again, whether it means I am in front of or behind the camera.

So, I realize that this is the third post in a row that has included photos of myself. I am not usually this vain. I just really enjoy photos and am amazed at others’ abilities to make me look as beautiful as they do. Yes, you read that right. I called myself beautiful. I promise it isn’t against the law. haha

So, maybe you should try calling yourself beautiful. I think every girl should tell herself that. Because every girl is. :)

On that note, have a wonderful afternoon. I am planning to!!

As some of you may remember, I worked with a few friends to put together a magazine (AVENEU) last year. It was soooo much fun and, even though we only put out one issue, it was definitely one of my best experiences of 2010. [I should probably share some of my photos from issue one. However, I am having a lazy spurt and don’t want to search for them on my hard drive. Another day, maybe. ;)] The first issue was very well-received but when our graphic designer and main brain behind everything AVENEU moved away, we knew it would be too hard to continue making issues in the same way. So, we stopped but not until after we had shot the majority of photo media for the second issue.

I dreamed up, arranged, art directed, and shot two pieces for the second issue. The first was meant to be surrounded by nature and Spring (the shoot took place in April). I wanted each girl to have headpieces that would become part of their hair for the shoot. They would wear light, airy outfits giving off the free-spirited feel of the warmer weather rolling in. I bought the supplies for the headpieces and had the models bring some clothing items from their own wardrobes. I figured that bringing their own clothes would make sure there was more of a chance the girls would find something that would fit right and be more comfortable.

My talented friend, Paris, helped with makeup and most of the girls’ hair. I managed to get one hairpiece done in the time she did the other 3! haha The girls were great sports. Getting ready took almost twice as long as the actual shoot!

Recently, Will and I made a trip to visit our dear friends and Mackenzie, the former AVENEU brainchild who now works for another fantastic Nashville magazine. Upon discussing the old photos we took, we decided that there really wouldn’t be any reason to not post the photos, seeing as there will never be another issue made.

The photos sat in a folder on my laptop from April until, well, yesterday. haha I reopened them, re-edited them (the edits were horrible! haha), and sent them off to the wonderful models.

So, all that is left to do is share them with you. :)

I will be back sometime soon with more photos. I recently started going through my hard drive to erase files I don’t need. In doing so, I have found tons of photos to edit and eventually share. Until then, enjoy your weekend. Happy February a few days late! :)

I just found these photos that I took last winter when my sister came for a visit. In the first photo, you see Kim on the left and Jackie on the right. Jackie made that robot, Hubert, for Will and I for Christmas. His heart lights up. :)

I miss these girls oh-so-much. I hope to get some serious sister time soon!

Alright, it’s off to work for me. I hope your days go well!

Hey everyone! Here are the submissions for this week’s prompt. Each person submitted photos to recreate a memory of theirs. I loved what you all sent this week! :)

Serena

Sheri: “I have chosen to photograph the kitchen of my Mom’s tin dollhouse from when she was a kid.  As a child, I thought it was sooo cool, and to be honest, I still do.  I keep it on display in the studio/crafty room in my apartment, and each time I look at it, I am reminded that it holds many happy memories from my mother’s childhood, as well my sister’s and my own.  The dollhouse itself is from the early 50s, and to add to the vintage feel of the photo, I decided to use a fake TTV treatment. (ttv frame source)”

Reka: “i was trying to recreate the memory of being a child. i collected my old toys, my handmade  doll that at i did at the age of 10 and my old suitcase. i wanted to show how all my memories came ot of the suitcase when i started to think about these photos. they are not exactly what i wanted, but my little sister is amazing anyway in all of them:) being a child is wonderful, i always thought i could paint the sky, go away for ever and be a pirate, or travel across the universe, kids are truly capable of anything. thats why i try to keep myself a kid, and so far i succeed. yaay.”

You all are so wonderful! Thank you for participating! I promise to finish the list of prompts this weekend to send out. Please email me if you would like a copy of the list so you can participate (photo.prompts@gmail.com or erinsundayphoto@gmail.com). Thanks so much! :))

I will be back tomorrow with my photos for this week’s prompt. I have to admit… I love them! :)

p.s. Please stop by my etsy shop if you have time. I marked almost everything down in price to make room for some new items I am working on. Please email me if you have any questions about items we have. Thanks!

So, I just found these photos on my photo booth from the shoot we did the other night. It made me laugh tons. I just had to share it. I enjoy this girl and will miss her very much when she moves.

My mom told me I have a little Native American in me. Do you see it?
